Effective. Specialist. Women-led.

The organisations Rosa supports are working at the front line with women and girls throughout the UK.

They are experts about the issues affecting women and girls and bring experiece, knowledge and sensitivity to their work.

Rosa's first grantees, working on the issue of body image, are evidence of this. From over 100 applications from around the UK, Rosa identified three extraordinary projects:

• Bin the Beauty Box (ICA:UK/Feminist Webs): A series of events across the North West of England generating knowledge of feminist youth work around body image and informing decision makers and media.

• Powerbodies (The Powerhouse): A London-based grassroots organisation engaging with and empowering women with learning difficulties to respect their bodies and their abilities.

• My Image and Me (Mimbre): A female led acrobatic dance company supporting young girls from low income families in North and East London and their mother/carers to discover their physical strength through dance.
